Walk the waterfront

Kyrenia Harbour is a compact starting point for a town visit. Give yourself time to walk the edge, notice the boats and look back towards the castle. It can be busiest around meals and sunset; quieter streets just behind the waterfront offer a different view. The harbour is an active place, so follow signs and keep clear of working areas.

Add the castle

The fortress at the harbour entrance makes an obvious first stop. See our Kyrenia Castle guide for the shipwreck museum and walking conditions. Check its current hours before timing the day around it. A castle visit followed by a meal is usually more comfortable than scheduling a long list of distant sights.

Choose a place to pause

Compare menus and prices before taking a waterfront table, and ask about the day’s specials if you want local food. For a wider food introduction, use our Cypriot dishes guide. In summer, plan shade and water; in winter, check the forecast before promising a sunset dinner outside.

Stay nearby or visit for a day

A central address may be useful for evening walks, but parking and noise matter. The Kyrenia hotel collection lets you compare locations, while the area guide separates town, coast and hills. Confirm walking distance from an actual map pin; a property described as “Kyrenia” may be well beyond the harbour.
