Start with non-negotiables
Make a short list of needs before looking at star ratings: room occupancy, lift access, parking, a quiet room or reliable Wi-Fi may matter more than a long facility list. Use our hotel directory to shortlist properties, then contact them for current details. A facility mentioned in an old review may be closed or operate seasonally.
Pool, beach and family facilities
Ask whether pools are heated, supervised or open on your dates. Check whether beach access is direct, by road or by shuttle, and whether loungers cost extra. For children, confirm club ages and operating hours, not just a “family friendly” label. Our family resort guide has a more detailed question list.
Spa, dining and accessibility
A spa name does not mean every treatment is included; request the current menu and booking policy. For dietary needs, ask the kitchen rather than assuming a buffet covers them. If accessibility matters, request photographs or measurements of the actual room, bathroom and route from reception. Check parking and lift access as separate questions.
Compare the complete booking
Match the same dates, board basis and occupancy when comparing quotes. Ask for all taxes, deposits, transfers and cancellation terms in writing. The where-to-stay guide helps select a region first, while the beachfront guide examines coastal claims. This page is a checklist, not a live amenities database.
