Why go further east
Dipkarpaz, also called Rizokarpaso, is a practical gateway to the far end of the Karpaz Peninsula. The attraction is the change of pace: scattered settlements, open coast and longer distances between services. Treat it as a journey in its own right. The Karpaz road-trip guide is a better plan than squeezing the peninsula into a hurried return from Kyrenia.
Beaches and wildlife
Golden Beach and other stretches of coast can feel remote, but access and facilities vary. Carry water, sun protection and supplies, and take everything away with you. Wild donkeys are part of the landscape; watch from a safe distance, never feed them from a vehicle and do not block the road for photographs. Our wild-donkey guide covers this in more detail.
Where to pause
Check whether a village café, small guesthouse or restaurant will be open on your travel dates. Fuel up before the remotest stretch and download your map; mobile service and opening times should not be assumed. If you want an unhurried sunrise or beach walk, consider an overnight stay rather than a late drive back. Compare wider accommodation through our stay directory.
Travel carefully
Roads can be narrow and animals may appear unexpectedly. Drive within visibility, especially near dusk, and avoid off-road tracks or protected dunes. Check the day’s forecast and access notices. For the wider east-coast context, read our Karpaz destination guide and use current local information before entering a beach or protected area.
