Use a managed visit

Loggerhead and green turtles nest on Cyprus beaches. Seeing a turtle is never guaranteed, and searching for nests independently can disturb protected wildlife. SPOT runs information and managed visitor opportunities; check its current booking instructions and any age or access conditions. A conservation-led visit is the right starting point for an evening wildlife experience.

Respect beach rules

Nesting beaches may close at night or restrict lights, vehicles and dogs during the season. Follow signs, remain off dunes and marked nest areas, and never use a flash or touch an animal. If you come upon a turtle by chance, give it space and follow local conservation advice. Our beach guide covers general coast access.

Plan without a promise

Dates of nesting and hatching vary with nature and conditions. Do not book a holiday on a promised sighting or assume a turtle patrol is open every evening. Bring suitable footwear, water and a layer for a managed night visit, and use the packing guide for the wider trip.

Make the coast part of the trip

Alagadi is known for turtle conservation work, but visit arrangements should be verified with SPOT rather than inferred from an old article. Read our Alagadi guide, then choose a base and transport that allow a safe return. Take all litter and beach equipment home, leaving the shore undisturbed.
