If help is urgent

The UK government's Cyprus travel advice lists 112 for ambulance, fire and police emergencies. Tell the operator your location, nearest landmark and a return phone number; ask your accommodation host to help with the local address if needed. Follow the current instructions of local services. Save your accommodation's contact and your insurer's emergency-assistance number offline.

Prepare before departure

Check that your policy explicitly covers the northern part of Cyprus, your activities, treatment and medical evacuation. The UK's advice says consular assistance in the north is limited. Carry a copy of your policy, prescription information and details of any allergies or conditions. If you rely on medication, ask a clinician and check travel rules before packing extra supply.

Getting treatment

Contact your insurer as soon as practical if you are referred to a facility, and keep records of treatment and payments. Do not assume a UK GHIC or EHIC will meet all costs or work in every location; confirm coverage with the scheme and insurer for your specific itinerary. The UK safety overview covers wider precautions.

Reduce avoidable risks

Stay hydrated in hot weather, use appropriate sun protection and take care on mountain roads or uneven sites. Our packing guide helps by season, and driving advice covers road planning. For entry documents and crossings, use the Green Line guide.

Keep information current

Emergency procedures and provider lists can change. Review your government's travel advice, insurance policy and local instructions just before departure. This page is a planning aid, not a diagnosis or a guarantee of treatment availability.
